More About Samuel Hon
Creative Marketing Director
Samuel consults clients at Hon Marketing and he also serves as the Vice President, Marketing & Creative Services at First Corporate Solutions (FCS), a risk management firm providing global UCC & corporate due diligence solutions for entrepreneurs, Fortune 500 financial institutions and legal professionals. At FCS, he oversees all of the company’s marketing activities, including research, design, branding, strategic planning, internet and social media marketing, trade show and vendor management.
Led Company Launch and Honored with Awards
Prior to his promotion to Vice President, Marketing & Creative and Director of Marketing, Samuel was the Marketing Manager at PCTS and he was responsible for the year-long planning behind the launch of FCS. He also became the youngest employee to join the executive management team. Since the launch of FCS, Samuel has continuously improved FCS brand identity and consistency. In addition, he was honored with several marketing & design awards with the campaigns he created for FCS.
Founded UW Career Development Association
Before joining PCTS, Samuel worked as the Marketing Coordinator at the University of Wisconsin Career Services Office and founded the University of Wisconsin Career Development Association (CDA). CDA provided members with marketing, public relations and event planning opportunities. This innovative initiative gained recognition nationwide as a model for higher education student services and was presented as the best practice of career services office at the American College Personnel Association Conference. Samuel also has additional marketing, public relations, design and advertising experiences in the publication, magazine, music and retail sectors.
Superior Academic Achievements
Samuel received his Bachelors of Science degree with honors and distinction in Journalism – Strategic Communication (Advertising/Public Relations) from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. His exceptional academic and professional performances earned him the school’s highest honor, the Senior Achievement Award. His honors thesis on masculinity and global advertising was selected to present at the 54th International Communication Association Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. Samuel is a Stanford Certified Project Manager, an Inbound Marketing Certified Professional and also holds Certificates in Technical Web Design Search Engine Marketing.
International Background
Samuel grew up in Hong Kong and he is fluent in English and Chinese/Cantonese. He currently resides in California and travels back to Hong Kong regularly. He has also visited other countries including Australia, Singapore and Japan. With Samuel’s passion in career development, art and design, he served on the advisory board at the University of Wisconsin Career Services Office and volunteered at the Crocker Art Museum as a graphic designer. Samuel enjoys live concerts and musicals – he has seen over 100 live events throughout the years.
